It's not a bad game, by any means, but it certainly isn't scary. It's easy to blame the co-op, the brighter environments, or the option to order an airstrike via credit card for this lack of genuine horror, but for me, the problem is a little closer to home. Dead Space 3 has nearly become the grotesque, a flashy and bloated genre piece. Sure, following up the generations most defining horror with a resolution is an unenviable task but its also just a simple, cinematic action sequel. The concluding entry can only resolve whats already there and only be as horrifying as it is unexpected, and while its not the most refined Dead Space, its certainly the most ambitious.

The final chapter in the Dead Space trilogy came to a close this February (or March depending if you played the latest single-player downloadable content), but that hasnt stopped fans from craving a movie adaptation of the series. Eric, a film undergraduate and future graduate in entertainment business, and founder of Z Pictures has released a live-action trailer for his movie called, Dead Space: Chase to Death. The tone of the trailer is similar to the first entry in the franchise, which is a relief if you thought the series lost its horror elements. Before the launch of the Wii U, a peculiar rumour emerged about a messy Origin deal gone wrong. Rumours are just rumours, and should never be considered true until officially confirmed. But the recent animosity of EA towards the Wii U, has me concerned that this rumour is in fact true. What happened to the unprecedented partnership that was announced at E3 2011?
